Drive from Dehradun to Pantwari and Trek to Camp 1

Your weekend adventure starts with a picturesque drive from Dehradun to the small, charming Pantwari Village. Enjoy the beautiful winding roads cutting through the lower Himalayan hills. After reaching Pantwari, we officially begin our trek towards Camp 1.

The trail is a pleasant 4 km hike ascending through scenic landscapes, passing local farms and entering into beautiful oak forests. Relish the fresh mountain air as we set up our campsite for the night, offering a peaceful evening surrounded by nature.

An early start is crucial today! We traverse the remaining steep trails through dense, mystical woodlands towards the ultimate prize: the Nag Tibba Top at 9,900 ft. Often referred to as "Serpent's Peak," the summit rewards your efforts with majestic, unobstructed views of the Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Gangotri ranges.

After absorbing the spectacular Himalayan panoramas, we begin our long descent. We trek a total of 12 km today, returning all the way down to Pantwari Village. From there, we hop into our vehicles for the 90 km drive back to Dehradun, capping off an unforgettable 2-day getaway into the mountains.

Reach Dehradun by 6:00 AM on Day 1. The drive to Pantwari is scenic and takes you through Mussoorie and Kempty Falls.

Eligibility for Buran Ghati Trek
  • Age Requirement: Minimum 14 years.
  • Experience: First-timers are welcome, though prior trekking experience is preferred. Good fitness is a must.
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • Ability to cover 5 km in 30 mins or 10 km in 70 mins without stress.
    • For cycling enthusiasts: Ability to cycle 18 km in 50 minutes.
    • Backpack Load: 10-12 kg (Self-carry) or 3-5 kg (Off-load option).
    • Ideal BMI Range: 18.5 - 27.
