The Next Peak Agreement
By booking a trek or using the services of Next Peak Expedition, you agree to abide by
the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure your safety and
the smooth operation of our Himalayan expeditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Booking & Payments
To secure your spot on a trek, a booking amount (usually 20-50%) is required upfront.
- The full payment must be settled at least 15 days before the departure date.
- Bookings made within 15 days of departure require full payment at the time of
reservation.
- All costs are subject to change if there are government-mandated increases in forest
fees or taxes.
2. Medical Fitness & Risk
High-altitude trekking involves inherent risks including Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS),
unpredictable weather, and rugged terrain.
- Trekkers must submit a self-declaration of fitness or a medical certificate from a
qualified doctor if requested.
- It is the trekker's responsibility to inform Next Peak Expedition of any
pre-existing medical conditions.
- The trek leader's decision regarding a trekker's health (e.g., stopping a trek due
to AMS symptoms) is final and binding.
3. Change of Itinerary
Mountain environments are unpredictable. For the safety of the group:
- Next Peak Expedition reserves the right to modify the itinerary due to landslides,
road blocks, bad weather, or group safety.
- In case of a change in itinerary, any additional costs incurred (accommodation,
transportation) will be borne by the trekker.
- No refunds will be provided for unused services if a trekker leaves the group midway
for any reason.
4. Responsible Trekking
We are committed to "Green Trekking." All participants are expected to:
- Follow a strict "Leave No Trace" policy. Littering in the mountains is strictly
prohibited.
- Respect local Himalayan cultures, traditions, and the privacy of mountain
communities.
- Consumption of alcohol or drugs during the trek is strictly prohibited as it
increases the risk of high-altitude complications.
5. Equipment provided by us
We provide high-quality camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, gaiters).
- Participants are responsible for any damage to the equipment provided by Next Peak
Expedition beyond normal wear and tear.
- Loss of equipment will result in a fee equivalent to the current market price of the
item.
6. Liability
Next Peak Expedition and its partners will not be held liable for any injury, loss of
life, or damage to personal property resulting from natural disasters, accidents, or
third-party negligence. We strongly recommend all trekkers to have valid travel and
trekking insurance.
